A successful start with exciting challenges and inspiring achievements
The first season in NEXETIS' history is in the books. It was a season full of groundwork, encouraging developments and
emotional highlights.
It all began in February at the training camp in Tuscany, and Nexetis' first summer season came to an end last weekend with the Mountain Bike World Cup races in Canada. “It was an exciting journey with many challenges, both on and off the bike. Yet it was precisely these moments that helped us grow as a team, understand ourselves better, and identify both our strengths and areas for improvement”, says team manager Anna Wiese.
It is a part of our sport that not everything always goes according to plan and that one or two detours are necessary when building a team from scratch. The focus was on forming a solid foundation; the primary aim was to learn how to compete in a race as a team, how to behave in the field, and how to help each other in the race. “When you see where we started and where we are now, we are truly proud of what we have achieved,” says Wiese.
The highlights were undoubtedly the team's participation in the Tour de Suisse and the Tour de Romandie. The team took advantage of the opportunity to showcase itself on the big stage – especially Ginia Caluori, who finished all stages of the Tour de Suisse in the top 25 and even ranked in the top ten in the overall classification of the Tour de Romandie. Jasmin Liechti's stage victory and her win in the overall classification at the Volta a Portugal Feminina were also fantastic achievements. “Performances like these, or our victories at the Nationals in Switzerland and Slovenia or the top results in the Mountain Bike World Cup are testaments to the riders hard work and dedication, as well as the shared commitment and effort of the entire team”, Wiese summarizes.
A big THANK YOU goes to all our partners, without whose tremendous commitment such a successful opening season would never have been possible. We are already looking forward to next spring!
