One competition each in mountain biking, road cycling, and gravel cycling were held as part of the training camp in Spain, resulting in one podium finish and five other top ten rankings. It comes as no surprise that Edi Telser's February summary is extremely encouraging. “Our athletes have delivered – we are on track,” says the NEXETIS sports director.

Telser was particularly impressed by the team's performance at the Clasica Almeria, a one-day race in Andalusia that is part of the Pro Tour. Jasmin Liechti sprinted to third place behind two World Tour athletes, while Ginia Caluori finished eighth. Nina Kessler slipped into the role of road captain as planned and secured the overall intermediate sprint classification in her first race for NEXETIS. “It was impressive to see how our team performed in this high-quality field,” says Telser.

The twelve-day camp in Sagunt near Valencia was also a success in terms of training and team building. Marlen Reusser, who is currently recovering from her crash at the UAE Tour, joined the team temporarily as a special guest. “It is extremely valuable for our young athletes to be able to train together with Marlen,” says Telser, who also serves as Swiss national road coach. 

The NEXETIS program will continue in early March with two one-day races in Croatia, followed by a second training camp in Ticino.
