The outstanding performances of the Swiss Continental team NEXETIS have not gone unnoticed – quite the contrary: following Ginia Caluori – the Graubünden native will be competing for the Spanish Movistar team from 2027 onwards – another NEXETIS rider, Jasmin Liechti, has signed for a World Team. The Bern native, who this season has won the GP Della Liberazione and the Bretagne Ladies Tour, amongst other races, will wear the Canyon/SRAM jersey next year.

Jonas Möslein, Business Development Manager of the German-licensed team, praises both Liechti’s “exceptionally good development” and the “outstanding work” that NEXETIS is doing in promoting up-and-coming talent. He sincerely hopes that NEXETIS will find the necessary financial support to continue running the team, Möslein notes. “Teams like NEXETIS are indispensable for the future of women’s cycling.”

For Edi Telser, such comments are highly significant. “Through statements like these – and transfers such as Jasmin’s – we receive confirmation that we are doing a good job and helping to make the transition to professional cycling easier for young Swiss women,” says the NEXETIS sporting director, whilst also pointing out the lack of balance in the system. “Fortunately, women’s cycling is developing at a rapid pace, but unfortunately this is primarily at the very highest level. There are far too few development teams like ours.” The main reason is likely that it is extremely difficult to raise the necessary funds to run such a team.

Jasmin Liechti says that in her two years at NEXETIS she has “learnt an enormous amount. I was able to develop in a familiar environment without any pressure and was excellently prepared for the step up to the World Tour, for which I am very grateful. Now I feel ready to take on this new challenge,” says the 23-year-old from Burgdorf.
