The final phase of the first season begins with a highlight: on 15 August, the three-stage Tour de Romandie will kick off in Huémoz, high above the Rhone Valley. This will be the second appearance in the World Tour for the NEXETIS women's team, launched by Swiss Cycling in November 2024. The tour undoubtedly represents a considerable challenge for the team led by team manager Anna Wiese and sports director Edi Telser. «The mountains are high, and the level will be even higher», says Edi Telser. «On the one hand, we are here to learn, but on the other hand, we want to confirm the progress we have made in recent months.»

Ginia Caluori surprisingly ranked among the extended leaders in the Tour de Suisse, finishing all four stages in the top 25 and the national tour in 21st place. The 22-year-old from Graubünden will be particularly keen to stay in touch with the best for as long as possible in the second stage with its mountain finish in La Tzoumaz. Jasmin Liechti, who is the same age, triumphed in the overall classification of the Tour of Portugal in July. Although she prefers flat terrain, the Bernese rider will try to make her mark in her favourite discipline on the first day in the time trial up to Villars-sur-Ollon. The team is completed by 20-year-old Anina Hutter, who impressed at the Mountain Bike European Championships in Portugal with second place in the U23 race ten days ago, as well as Lea Huber, Noelle Ingold and the Slovenian Nika Bobnar.

Anna Wiese sees the Tour de Romandie Féminin as a first-class opportunity for further development – both individually and as a team. «At the Tour de Suisse, our athletes gained their first experience competing against the world's best, and at the Tour of Portugal, we really worked very well together as a team for the first time. Now we need to build on these experiences, use the confidence we have gained, present ourselves as an inspiring unit and put on the best possible show for our home crowd.»
