NEXETIS meets the best at the Tour de Suisse

NEXETIS is about to make its world tour debut. The new Swiss UCI Continental Team will compete against the world's elite at the Tour de Suisse Women, which takes place from June 12 to 15. The team will be led by Ginia Caluori and Jasmin Liechti.

There is great respect and even greater anticipation: the NEXETIS women's team, launched by Swiss Cycling in November, is about to make its Tour de Suisse debut. The Swiss national tour begins on June 12 in Gstaad and ends on June 15 in Küssnacht am Rigi. For the selection of team manager Anna Wiese and sports director Edi Telser, this will be their first appearance in a World Tour race. «We have performed well on several occasions over the past few months, developed as a group and made progress in every respect, but there is still a lot of room for improvement», says Edi Telser. The Tour de Suisse is a considerable challenge, not only because of the strong competition, but also because of the many meters of elevation gain.

The team will be led by Ginia Caluori and Jasmin Liechti in the home race. The 22-year-old Caluori from Graubünden, who won silver in the U23 Olympic Cross-Country event at the 2023 World Championships in Glasgow, has recently finished several times in the extended lead; she took second place in the mountain classification at the five-day Gracia Orlova stage race. Liechti, who is the same age and from Bern, won silver in the U23 Time Trial at the 2024 World Championships in Zurich. She finished second in the already mentioned tour in the Czech Republic after winning the Time Trial and securing Nexetis' first victory at international level. The duo is supported by the very young Lea Huber and Anina Hutter, as well as the newcomers Noelle Ingold and Larissa Tschenett.

«For our Team, the participation in the Tour de Suisse Women marks a major step forward in our development», says Anna Wiese. «This race offers our young roster a unique opportunity to measure themselves against the world’s top riders and teams. We come with full commitment, eager to learn, grow, and show our potential on home soil. Our goal is to race with courage, gain invaluable experience, and represent our team with positivity, unity and ambition.»
