The Tour de Suisse is Switzerland’s biggest cycling event. This year’s event will be slightly larger for the women, who will compete in five stages, just like the men. From a Swiss perspective, the stage race, which takes place from 17 to 21 June, will feature world-class athletes such as Elise Chabbey, Marlen Reusser and Noemi Rüegg, as well as up-and-coming NEXETIS athletes. NEXETIS is one of two Continental teams to have received an invitation from the organisers. “For us, the Tour de Suisse is an absolute highlight,” says sports director Edi Telser. “Our athletes can learn from the best, showcase themselves to the home crowd, and attract attention with strong performances at this level. We are delighted to be taking part in this wonderful race.”

NEXETIS can look back on a very successful March. At the start of the month, the team won two road races in Croatia. Nika Bobnar won in Umag and Jasmin Liechti in Poreč. Meanwhile, Anina Hutter came out on top in the U23 category at the mountain bike race on Monte Tamaro. A week later, Jasmin Liechti and Noëlle Rüetschi took first and third place respectively at the GP Berra on home soil in Valais. The action continues over the Easter holidays with three days of racing in Belgium and the Netherlands. After these events, NEXETIS will be at the start of the new criterium in Ambri and the Inferno di Cresciano in Ticino.

Urara Kawaguchi will be the latest rider to wear the NEXETIS jersey. The Japanese mountain bike specialist is joining the team in cooperation with partner Nippo, replacing Yurina Kinoshita who has returned home for personal reasons. Kawaguchi is expected to make her NEXETIS debut in early May at the MTB World Cup opener in South Korea.
