Questions & Answers

Strengths/Specialty
I would describe myself as resilient to wind and weather. In other words, I find cold, wet, chaotic, and technically challenging conditions, like those often encountered in the Belgian spring, pretty cool. Additionally, I have a strong kick for short, punchy climbs and a well-developed race instinct.

Weakness
I tend to be overly self-critical and sometimes quite hard on myself. While this is important to some extent in elite sports, it can also become a limiting factor at a certain point. Plus, I can be extremely clumsy at times.

Greatest Achievement

  • 11th place at the Junior Road World Championships 2022
  • 11th place at the U23 Road World Championships 2023 (within the Elite Women’s race)

Goal for 2025
After taking a break from racing since last April, I want to regain confidence in the peloton, reconnect with my strengths on the bike, and continuously develop them with the help of my new team.

Who inspires you and why?
I don’t have one specific role model. There are so many people who inspire me in their own way. Whether it’s by pursuing their goals, living their dreams, overcoming difficult times, or being open-minded.

What’s your secret talent that no one knows about?
If I tell you here, it won’t be a secret anymore 😉

If you weren’t a cyclist, what would you be instead? Why?
I wouldn’t (yet) call myself a professional cyclist because I still go to school quite often when I’m not at training camps or races. If I weren’t a cyclist, I would study medicine or sports management so that I could eventually be involved in cycling in another role.

How do you relax after a tough race weekend?
I love starting the day in a relaxed way with a nice breakfast and a good coffee after a hard race weekend. However, in reality, it usually means waking up early on Monday and heading straight to school. But a good flat white is still a must!

Tell us about your biggest success
The question is always how you define success - whether it’s about sporting achievements or personal milestones. For me, the experiences and personal growth I’ve gone through over the past years, especially when facing setbacks and challenges, are what I consider my greatest success. But of course, I’m also proud of my various podium finishes in international races, both as a junior and in the elite category.
