NEXETIS kicks off the competition season in Spain in mid-February and announces a new team member
The Swiss UCI Continental Team NEXETIS will compete in its first races of the season in February, including gravel, mountain biking and road cycling events. Led by sports director Edi Telser, the team has signed experienced Dutch rider Nina Kessler.
Spain is calling! NEXETIS will complete its preparations for the first three competitions of the season in February in the Valencia region. The team will open its second season on 15 February with the Mountain Bike HC race in Chelva, followed a week later by the Pro Tour road race Clásica de Almería and the Gravel World Series event in Llucena.
New to the NEXETIS squad is 37-year-old Nina Kessler. The signing of the Dutch rider, who has plenty of World Tour experience, fills a previously vacant role; Kessler will act as the road captain. «An analysis of last season has shown that we need an athlete on the road who can read the race, communicate during the race and support the young riders», says sports director Edi Telser.
Yurina Kinoshita is no longer part of the NEXETIS squad ; the Japanese rider has returned to her home country for personal reasons. Another Japanese athlete may join the team in the spring in collaboration with partner Nippo.
NEXETIS's overarching goal remains to provide up-and-coming talents with the opportunity to develop in a familiar environment and make the transition to professional cycling.
